Bryant Perrier's Coaching Assignment To Date:

Bryant Perrier's Bio:

For the past three and a half seasons, I have served as the Head Coach of Åmål SportKlubb's J20/J18 Division 1 Hockey Clubs and as the Sports Director for the U13-U20 teams in Åmål, Sweden. During this time, I have worked with J20/J18 teams that have made significant strides in skill development and competition. By focusing on enhancing hockey IQ, mental toughness, and faster-paced game understanding, the players have shown tremendous growth. Since becoming Head Coach, we have advanced ten players to the Åmål Division 2 team, and as a result of their hard work, ten J20 players have signed contracts with the Division 2 team. As Sports Director for the U13-U20 teams, I was responsible for overseeing both coaches and players. I worked closely with coaches to guide them in creating practice plans, held regular meetings to address challenges, and provided support for problem-solving. I also participated on the ice during practices, offering real-time feedback and mentorship. Additionally, I met with players regularly to check on their progress, gather feedback, and discuss individual development. I also observed and evaluated games to assess the implementation of skills learned in practice, monitor bench management, and evaluate players' behavior. In January 2024, I signed a two-year extension to become the Head Coach of Åmål Division 2 (Hockeytvåan) for the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 seasons, while continuing in my role as Head Coach of the J20 team. On February 15, 2024, I was asked to take over the Åmål Division 2 team for the relegation play-offs. Despite the tough schedule, we played six games in ten days, winning four and losing one in overtime, successfully securing our place in Division 2. This season presented several challenges, particularly at the start, with many of our import players unavailable due to delays in their visa approvals. My team was the youngest in the Hockeytvåan series, and we began the season with a 0-5-1 record, with every game decided by two or fewer goals. However, as the season progressed, we found our rhythm, and before I had to return to Canada, we had climbed to the second-best overall record in the series, with the second-best power play (38%) and penalty kill (81%). Unfortunately, due to new regulations introduced by the Swedish Ice Hockey Federation and the Swedish Migration Agency, my work permit was rejected, requiring me to return to Canada before completing the 2024/2025 season. My hockey journey spans playing, coaching, and managing teams across Canada and Europe at various levels. I played for an NHL-affiliated team in the International Hockey League and competed in NCAA Division 1 on a scholarship. As a Professional Hockey Coach, General Manager, Sports Director, and Coach Mentor, I hold Hockey Canada’s Advanced High-Performance Coaching Level certification. Throughout my career, I have transformed small clubs in both Canada and Europe into competitive teams, even with limited budgets. My success lies in building strong relationships with players through communication, respect, and trust. I am passionate about helping athletes reach their full potential through mentoring and by building strong mental character. My approach includes positive reinforcement, mental aptitude training, visual teaching, and statistical analysis. This methodology enhances players' understanding of the game, boosts their confidence, and leads to consistent performance. I am enthusiastic about the challenge of improving team organizations through my involvement. I bring technical, tactical, and analytical skills, with a strong belief in the importance of mental training and game video analysis for achieving team goals. I am adaptable, open to incorporating innovative ideas into my coaching, and receptive to direction as needed. The success of the team and club is paramount to me, and I aim to reflect the integrity of the staff, administration, and players in all my work. My time in the Åmål community and at the rink has been immensely rewarding. I’ve built relationships, made lasting friendships, and enjoyed the Swedish culture. Thank you for your time reading over my Bio. Best regards, Bryant Perrier
